IL FIORE D’ORO is not just a guest house, but an experience. It is an elegant refuge, a corner of peace and tranquility in the beating heart of Naples. The environment is refined and comfortable but at the same time cozy like that of the intimacy of a home. Crossing the threshold of the doorway of this ancient building, one will undoubtedly run into some resident intent on offering coffee to neighbors as in traditional Neapolitan comedies or be inebriated by the smell of a ragout that is pippea-ing – an onomatopoeic term that in Neapolitan means that sauce is simmering very slowly. Neapolitanism is a way of understanding life, of remembering, of loving, of socializing. It is giving importance to things that would be superfluous elsewhere while turning a blind eye to others. It is not a virtue, not a flaw but a way of understanding life on epicurean principles of solidarity, and the ancient hamlet of Sant’Antonio is a true cross-section of that way of being.
Santo Antonio, in Neapolitan Sant’Antuono, is the protector of fire and animals – and here also of pizza makers and bakers. The neighborhood is very folkloristic, rich in traditions where all tourists are welcome. The real and working-class hamlet conveys, via its smells and noises, feelings of wellness and familiarity. During the day it seems like an open-air theater, lively shouts give life to the neighborhood as do the tuneful melodies often heard in the building’s entranceway.
The neighborhood revolves around Via Sant’Antonio Abate, an 800-meter-long street that connects Porta Capuana and Piazza Carlo III, famous for its historic daily market, and it is only 400 meters from the Botanical Garden, 1 km from Naples Central Train Station, 2 km from the well-known street of San Gregorio Armeno famous for its nativity scenes, and 2.4 km from the National Archaeological Museum.
The bright and spacious terrace is the ideal place for healthy relaxation. Thanks to the open-air veranda, it is possible to enjoy this outdoor space even in the middle of winter. All guests can enjoy pleasant moments of peace and quiet on the terrace equipped with bistro tables.
The terrace is also ideal for the organization of private events and brand presentations.
A tasty and plentiful breakfast buffet with local products is served on this magnificent terrace. Our standard selection includes pastries, coffee, hot drinks, juice, fruit and spreads. We recommend tasting the original coffee with Moka to get the experience of an authentic Neapolitan home. You can supplement your choice with some extra dishes for an additional fee. For more privacy, you can choose to add on the extra cost of breakfast room service.
